I’m very happy to share that the Conquer Childhood Cancer Act was signed into law yesterday, authorizing $30 million annually over five years to support the work of the Children’s Oncology Group and other pediatric cancer researchers.  My son is healthy today because of  years of research, and this funding will help insure that more children are returned to health and others (and their families) are spared the battle.  $30 million a year is not nearly enough, buit it is a big step.

The iPhone app, for which the update was done, is not working.  Yeesh.

Upgraded wordpress to take advantage of the new iPhone app and lost all my categories.  Anyone out there know how to recover them?

Ok, so now I am doubly disappointed, as I posted a review of Evernote on the iTunes Store warning others about the Terms of Use issue, and I’ve apparently been censored in moderation. Not sure why Apple doesn’t want you to know that you are giving all your content to Evernote, but there it is. I’ve taken Evernote off my phone.

OK after the prior endorsement of Evernote, I have to say I find the terms of use incredibly overreaching:

“By submitting, posting or displaying Content in Public notebooks in or through the Service, you give Evernote a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute such Content. You also agree that Evernote has the right to elect not to accept, post, store, display, publish or transmit any Content in our sole discretion. You agree that this license includes a right for Evernote to make such Content available to other companies, organizations or individuals with which Evernote has relationships for the provision of related services, and to use such Content in connection with the provision of those services.”

So anything I put up is essentially under an open license to them that does not even require attribution? I’m a lot less interested in the service now…

Air Hockey is a disappointment. Evernote has the potential to revolutionize my digital world if they can get the kinks worked out. The kids love Bubbles and T4Two. FileMagnet will be cool once I get Leopard installed. I love Phone Sabre and iPint (much to my wife’s annoyance). SplashID was a painful lesson learnt when I left my phone on the train last week. Returned by a very kind man who delivered it to my office himself, but I had a lot of openly accessible data on there that shouldn’t have been. Got lucky this time, won’t happen again.

Also in iPhone news, stopped by the Apple Store in the CambridgeSide Galleria this AM to get new headphones. The line there was 50+ deep to get the new phone.
