Submit to the OpenFiction Project
Although I greatly enjoy teaching fiction, and believe I've learned more about writing through teaching the craft than studying it, I cannot afford to be as free with my time as I can be with my materials. Nonetheless, I am happy to provide critical responses to stories and writing exercises for a fee.
To submit, simply email the story or exercise to the address below in MS Word or RTF format, along with the name on the PayPal account you are using for payment. For stories of up to 15 pages, the critiquing fee is $250.00, and longer stories are an additional $10.00 per page. I also critique writing exercises of up to two pages in length for $40.00 ($5.00 per page for additional pages). Please expect a week turnaround time from the date payment is received on all submissions.

Volunteer Time or Donate to the OpenFiction Project
The coursware on this site is provided in a free and open format, and upkeep and improvement of the site and materials is done on my own time. There are quite a number of improvements I'd like to make but currently lack resources to undertake. If you've found the site to be a valuable resource, and would like to help maintain it, I gladly accept volunteer help and financial support. If the site has helped you become a better writer, please consider a donation.
Current Planned Enhancements
- Writing and coding the final two chapters of the Fiction and the Real World discussion unit.
- Creating improved versions of site illustrations.
- Cleaning up HTML code and insuring conformance with accessability standards.
- "Flattening" site structure. (Originally coded when nested folders seemed like a good idea.)
