Finally, turn your attention one last time to the concept of story. The first assignment for this section was to respond to a statement from Best American about stories. Go to the class craftbook and read through your classmates responses to this exercise.

In a single concise paragrapgh (150 words or less), try to draw together all the ideas that you find applicable into one definition of the hallmarks of a good short story. Leave out those things you don't agree with, and include as much as you can of what you do agree with. Post these responses to the class craftbook.
