Fictional Narrative Basics - Plot
Unit Completion Date: End of Week 5
[ Previous ][ 6 ][ Next ]
Careful examination of plot structures in stories you admire can help you find new ways of plotting your own stories. Having looked more closely at the plot structure of your selected story, try now to imitate the structure you've identified. Pick one of your story ideas from the "Beginning" section and write a one-page plot summary for that story idea that follows the model you've identified in the previous exercise. After the summary, explain in a short paragraph how the summary uses the identified model in ways similar to your selected story and how it employs the model differently. How did attempting to follow the model limit you? What was gained or lost in attempting to follow such a model?

This assignment will not be posted to the course site but should be placed in the "Plot" section of your craftbook.
