Managing Fictional Narrative Flow - Epiphany
Unit Completion Date: End of Week 9
[ Previous ][ 4 ][ Next ]
We can test this hypothesis by looking at scenic moments of high tension in a story and asking whether dramatic questions are being raised and answered in those moments. If you have already completed Exercise 2 in Scene/Narrative Summary, go back to those dramatic moments and see if you can identify dramatic questions starting or ending at the height of the scene. If you have not yet completed that assignment, choose from your selected story in Best American the three or four most dramatic moments other than the story's overall climax and examine them for the beginnings or ends of dramatic questions. This exercise will not be posted to the class site but should be placed in the Epiphany section of your craftbook.
